Deadline for submitting chapter proposals (1-4 pages long): 20 December 2020
This book is planned to be published in July 2021

Nanotechnology has emerged as a pivotal enabling technology for a wide range of applications. In the last 20 years the number of publications and researchers in nanotechnology have exploded exponentially as a variety exploratory tools have become more readily available. Nanotechnology is truly a multidisciplinary area with the potential to bring together a range of disciplines which various focuses and ideas to solve problems and create new products. The importance of nanotechnology has been recognised with multiple Noble Prizes being awarded to researchers in nanomaterials discoveries such as Fullerenes and Graphene. However, the benefits of nanotechnology to society only become real when nanotechnologies can transition to make products using nanomanufacturing techniques and processes. This requires the nanotechnologies to be readily scalable in terms of volume and size and costs reduced to make products available to the mass market. A range of products have become available that employ nanotechnology as a base.

This book focuses on industrial aspects of nanotechnology and invites chapters on a wide range of applications. These include but not limited to the following:

  • Nanoelectronics
  • Nanocarriers and drug delivery
  • Treatment of diseases such as cancer, asthma and Parkinson’s
  • Dental materials and implants
  • Medical implants and devices
  • Surgical tools and devices
  • Automotive and aerospace applications
  • Energy generation and storage materials and devices
  • Solar cells and renewable energy materials
  • Optical devices
  • Glass technologies
  • Decorative coatings
  • Construction materials

Publishing Process: step by step (with dates)

  • Acceptance of the invitation sent by e-mail and online registration – You have been nominated to participate based on your expertise in the field and we believe that you might have something new and original to share with the scientific world. By accepting the invitation you are registered as a potential author for our new book project.
  • Chapter proposal submission 20 December 2020 – The chapter proposal should include themes that you plan to cover in your chapter together with key ideas submitted in MS Word .doc or .pdf format, 1 to 4 pages long.
  • Chapter proposal review – The chapter proposal is reviewed by our Editorial Board and it is either accepted or rejected for publication. You will receive a notification and suggestions for improving your content.
  • Chapter submission 31 January 2021 – The full chapter should be 15 to 30 pages long. We provide technical instructions for the paper, but we do not limit you in the way that you wish to present your topic – you can use images, tables, figures, etc. Since this book will be freely available online to a wide audience, we would appreciate if you could write a brief “soft” introduction to your chapter.
  • Chapter review – Once you have submitted your chapter it is reviewed by the Book Editor. Full chapters go through the review process in approximately 6-8 weeks following submission.
  • Payment of Article Processing Charge (APC) 1 March 2021 – You will receive an invoice. A publishing fee of 500 GBP covers the cost of the scientific publishing work flow, server and repository costs.
  • Typesetting and Proof Corrections – We will prepare the Typeset Proof of your chapter and you will be able to check it and request corrections.
  • Online publication of the bookJuly 2021

Article Processing Charge (APC)

  • The Article Processing Charge is 500 GBP (British Pounds)
  • The APC can be covered by the authors’ institution or funding body
  • The APC is charged only for accepted chapters

The APC covers:

  • indexing and listing across all major repositories
  • editing
  • design
  • online hosting
  • promotion and dissemination of your work

A language editing service is optional and carries a separate charge. For further information on our language editing service, please contact us on admin@onecentralpress.com.

Important Notice!
